Some in our community are not attending SchoolREASONBecause of school expulsions, suspensions, and youth in foster care without a permanent placement, some children can go all year without attending school. Many of these children  fall into the at-risk or high risk category.

Not attending school can decrease your knowledge and increase the potential of suffering from poverty.TYPES OF POVERTYFinancial Poverty is lacking the knowledge to meet essential physical needs.Relationship Poverty is lacking the knowledge to maintain healthy relationships.Educational Poverty is lacking knowledge to learn.Emotional Poverty is lacking the knowledge to develop and maintain healthy feelings.

A Safe Place for all kids to learn regardless of the circumstances EMOTIONAL SAFETY Research suggests that children learn better in a safe environment. Personal counseling, using evidence- based practices such as trauma-informed care and understanding how adverse childhood experiences (ACE's) affect kids help create an environment conducive to learning.

Individualize learning for each studentRELATIONAL LEARNINGRelational learning and accredited curriculum targeting individual academic needs in a low teacher/student ratio to help students overcome many learning difficulties. Mentoring and addressing students' characteristics directly related to their likelihood of re-offending or committing crimes (criminogenic needs) also helps them succeed in life.
