Future Students at McAdams Academy

Program for Youth who are Expelled or in Foster Care

McAdams Academy, in Wichita, KS, serves moderate to high-risk youths with long-term suspensions or expulsions from Sedgwick County schools. Students work online and receive one-on-one classroom tutoring to earn school credits while they serve out their expulsion period.

Our students work online with accredited curriculum.  Our teachers are on-hand to supervise, encourage, and offer one-on-one tutoring.

Affordable Tuition

If a student is expelled from a Sedgwick County public school, tuition is free with help from a Sedgwick County Crime Prevention grant.

We work with generous donors and supporters to keep tuition affordable as possible. If a student is not expelled, we use a sliding fee schedule as tuition is based on financial need.

Our Mission Statement

Providing a safe place where vulnerable youth practice academic, emotional, and spiritual skills for thriving lives that affect families and communities.

Why Enroll at McAdams Academy?

  • We welcome students who have been expelled from middle or high school.

  • Our staff and programs helps kids who struggle with emotional behavioral disorders (EBD).

  • Our students can earn a Kansas high school diploma even while expelled!

  • We help students work on behavioral issues. Expulsion as a punishment does not teach kids how to cope with their emotions or how to correct their behavior. We strive to help our students correct their behaviors and to work through their issues.

  • We provide a safe learning environment with a ratio of about 5 students per 1 teacher.

  • Tuition is free for students who are currently expelled from a Sedgwick County public school.
