2019 Photovoice Project

Photovoice is a participatory and community-focused research method that put cameras in the hands of individuals in order to facilitate community change. This project focuses on the experiences, challenges, and insights of 11 McAdams Academy students.

Three weeks in a row, students took  about 70 photos to represent how the McAdams program works, the strengths of the program, and what they would recommend changing.

We present their photos, narratives, and recommendations through an interactive exhibit for the community.

This project is funded by Wichita State University through a Multidisciplinary Research Project Award (MURPA).
