McAdams Academy is an alternative education program for moderate to high-risk youths expelled from public schools in Sedgwick County.  During a student's expulsion, public schools are not responsible for the student's education.  Because behavior is not addressed, students receiving expulsions usually receive multiple expulsions, fall behind in their academics, and are three times more likely to become involved in the justice system.  Statistics show that school expulsions disproportionately affect low-income students and students with behavior problems. Therefore, improving students’ behavior is a priority at McAdams.  In our program, students can work on their behavior while earning school credits.  McAdams Academy offers hope and a second chance to expelled students by working with kids the public-school system cannot.

The cost for one student to attend McAdams is $7000. Even though we are partially funded by a Sedgwick County Crime Prevention grant, funding decreases every year, and we are increasingly dependent on the generosity of those who believe in what we are doing. The McAdams Academy Golf Classic is an opportunity to raise funds needed to continue making a difference in kids who need it most.  Thank you in advance for your contribution in support of our students.
